weekend 1/22 to 1/25
I've been reviewing the weather forecast for the next week. Not that the weather gurus predict things right...
BUT - the forecast shows a warming trend starting on Monday (1/18) with temp's in the mid-30's. The icing on the cake is that on Friday 1/22 the high will be 39-40F. I think that by then our local freestoners will be warmer and most of the snow and anchor ice will be out of the creeks. The creeks could be slightly stained... it takes about 4 to 5 days for the color to come out of the water.
- LD, by then you might be able to get the jet boat out on the river!
I'm tempted to go out and see what kind of hold-overs are left.
I'll have to check the USGS guages... but good spots in the "North Country" are:
Lackwanna River - Olyphant to Jerymn, PA
Bowman's Creek at the FFO C&R near Rte 292 (Centermoreland)
The 'Sock near Hillsgrove and Barbours, PA
Lycoming Creek from Ralston to Marsh Hill, PA
Grey's Run below the Grey's Run Lodge to the confluence of the Lycoming
Tioga River from Rathbone Creek to County Bridge Park
Towanda Creek Headwaters in Canton, PA or the DH-ALO in West Franklindale, PA
Muncy Creek at from Sonestown to Tivoli, PA
Would anyone like to join me sometime from 1/22 to 1/25?
PM me or reply below.
