Been doing a little scouting on my way to work. Everything has ice on it everywhere!!
The Susqy has some tremendous ice in the coves, stretching out into the main river.
Nichols boat launch has ice, the cove upstream of the Ulster bridge has ice, Hornbrook Parks cove is completely covered with 5" of ice.
All of the little ponds and lakes are frozen over.
GAME ON GENTLEMEN!!! GAME ON!!!!!
The ice seems to be coming earlier every year..... YEEHAW!!!
Now if I could just get some time off of work to fish, that would be EXCELLENT!!!
Promised my boys we would ice fish day after Christmas..... Just need to pick where.
And by the way.... I am going to get a PA license.... I can't pass it up. Too many great fishing spots!!!

Shit... You ought to give credit to the DFP for our winter fishing outings.... it's almost like ice fishing!! 'cept we don't have to drill any holes!!

I bet by this weekend you CIW's will have ice again! Temps are supposed to stay below freezing all week.

Went again this morning, got some perch but nothing to take pictures of or bring home for the frying pan.
Went out today at the southern Nichols boat launch. Little sheet of ice. With GTN007, the kids and I we had a little over 15 tip-ups out there.
The wind was coming right up the river in gusts at about 20mph. Re-freezing the holes quite quickly. The wind was brutal.
I have learned that I require an outdoor bait tank or pond. Either that or the fish need to be adjusted slowly to the colder water. All my bait died in the water, GTN007 with his outdoor bait tank did not have the same issue. Live and learn.
Hoping to make a go of it tomorrow afternoon at Hornbrook park. Nice spot.
Try putting a little snow or ice cube in the water after the bait is in, alittle at a time. Or if your going out later in the day put your bucket with bait in the fridge or on the porch to aclimate slowly.
Hey guys, tell me when the ice is about a good 6" deep on the river. I need some photos for an article I'm doing. Anywhere in Bradford County. I won't tell where you are fishing and will try not to get any tell all background in the photos. I already know every slow water cove in the county so you won't be telling me anything new. I just want to make sure someone is going to be fishing when I get there for some photos.

Anytime this week at about 4:30pm Lance. I can hit Hornbrook Park or just upriver from the Ulster Bridge. These are two well known spots all ready, so no fear of giving away anything. Let me know.
