I won't be able to fish opening day.....April 16th.  That is the last day of a class I am going to be taking.  However, the end of the month = DRY FLIES if the weather is right.  Oh man, I may just take a couple vacation days and really make it worth my while............I am going to put it on the calendar and see what happens at work.

I'm good the same weekends as Dpiscator, the last weekend of the month is a 3 day weekend for me.  I don't know when spring Turkey is either.

How about the weekend of May 15 & 16th?  The Colonel gave me a "kitchen pass" for that weekend.  It would be past the "iffy" stage of the April monsoons/flooding on the freestoners and the hatches would be in full force.  Might even be warm enough for some wet wading!

JM, can you make it then?  and do you have the # to the place you stay?  I'd like to make a reservation...  that is if you can make that weekend.

I think I may be able to make that weekend.  The gang that I go up there with in June is usually there the second weekend in May, so let me check around a bit, as while I don't think they will be filled, we would need to get our number together pretty quickly.  Who is interested?  Should I also look around closer to Kettle?  What about the Ox Yoke in Galeton as a back up plan?  Let me know what you guys have in mind........

It does not matter to me where we stay whether it's in Galeton or closer to Kettle...  As long as there is a bed and a hot shower.  But if your good for May 15 and 16th.  Count me in!!!

Just curious... how much is a room out there?  $80?  $75?

If worse comes to worse I heard of a place in Austin, PA call Deering Run B&B.  It's kinda smack dab in the middle of Pine, Kettle, the Allegany and Sinnemahoning Creeks.  They even offer fly casting lessons and small stream guiding.  Their phone is: (814)-275-3333  I'm sure it's $$$$ if it caters to the Fly fishing crowd.

One other place that intriged me was the Northwoods Cabin on the Kettle

It's next to Jeff's Bar that open 7 days a week with pizza, beer , and hoagies.

I will do some checking but anyone with a tent, or camper that just wants a place to set it up, I might have an idea, BUT I HAVE TO GET THE OK, so don't carve this in stone yet.

JM, are you still in at Happy Town or has that fallen to the wayside?

I would like to fish Happy Town at least once this year...sort of an annual event for me....

J.T.s Motel in Galeton is where we usually stay.  Expect a clean bed and a hot shower.  Do not expect much else.  The people that own the cabins are good folks and have been good to me over the years.  They are a cash only business, and a phone call usually gets a reservation.  They have some small cabins of various sizes, but have charged by the person.  That is why a head count is in order...to ensure we have enough beds.

If memory serves, the Ox Yoke was around $70 a night. Not outlandish.

In Cross Fork there are two motels....I stayed in one sometime ago, but would have to check on prices.  I would avoid staying in Austin, as it just adds drive time to any of the places we would want to fish.  Plus, if the place you named is where I think it is and is affiliated with Big Moore's run lodge (name may have changed), we would be in for a weekend of rubbing elbows with tweedy types........

We don't need to hang out with those tweedy types.  JT's sounds like a good spot!  Now will the Moose be open for libations?

The Moose is open!  Actually, they remodeled their bar and I haven't been in there for two years to see it!  I drank my first beer in a bar at the  Galeton Moose....oh the memories.
