foggy morning
My car was in the shop this morning and the shop sits about 500 yds from one of my locals. The shop boss told me it was take about 1.5 hours to get the work done.
Sweet! I'll go fishing!
The fog was cool looking this morning!
There were some splashy rises as I was putting a lure on my spin rod. I lamented... ****... I should brought my fly rod. Them bass are taking it on the top.
I first tried the Rapala I found on my last fishing trip. No takers.. but I probably wasn't presenting it right. I have no confidence it in yet.
After about 10 casts I tried this thing. it's called a rooster tail, right? Whomever made it... doesn't know how to tie marabou feathers and bucktail onto a hook the right way. LOL! That company (south bend) needs my tying skills.
Well holy crap I got a fish... my little UL rod was bent into a horseshoe and whatever this fish was didn't fight like a bass it was just a constant pressure. At first I though it was a snag on a log or something. As I brought it to me I couldn't tell if it was a pike or a walleye. But as it got about 3 ft from me I saw it was about a 8-10" walleye. As I was going to bring it up to me to snap a pic... IT CAME OFF THE TREBLE HOOK... ahhhh crap. But now I have a little more confidence in my UL rod and these rooster tails. I'm gonna go try it again tomorrow morning!!!
that looks like a mepps spinner. I have had alot of success with the mepps spinners up in the great white north with northerns and smallies.
I found out that it was a spinner. See.. I'm not all that well-versed in spin fishing I only took up spin fishing last year. I have a lot to learn.
