Father and Son day

High Hopes for a good day on the HomeWaters. Waited for Seth to call me so we could fish together.  HA!  No phone call from Seth... figures!   Nary a cloud in the sky this afternoon.   Flows and levels are perfect for wet wading on all my locals right now. I rue the day the rains come back. I'm really enjoying the fall wade fishing right now.

So's my boy.. He loves the wade fishing. It's not up to his chest right now!! He has finally surpassed the elder. He can cast as good as me. Is that saying much? Probably not. LOL. He still hasn't mastered the steeple cast or the curve cast yet. I still have a few years as "teacher" left in me.

He's looking like a pro! He's watching his backcast and waiting for the line to straighten out behind him. He's hucking a big fat dumbell eyed streamer.

Mastering the double haul cast.

He got a 12" smallie in the slack water right behind this rock in the pic. He laid out a perfect cast, a beautiful drift of fly line with an upstream mend to keep his nymph going with a tight line, and set the hook with one little strip-strike. It was poetry in motion. I couldn't get the cell phone cam out in time. He had it lipped and released in 20 seconds flat. I'm really proud of him.
