5 Months to Go!!!!
Possibly. Tell me, O wise guru of the frozen hinterlands...
If I was to create some ice fishing jigs....
What colors should I utilize? How big of a jig size?
.... would you help me test some out?
Glo in the dark, blue, white, black top white bottom... About 1/4-3/8 oz, I would ABSOLUTLY help you and Seth test them out...
I would go 1/4 oz and smaller, chartruse, orange, white and gold, that would give you the pan fish size ones, small enough to hold some wax worms, meal worms and small minnows. Just my two cents.
BTW, I have some ice fishing poles with reels ifn anyone is looking for something, got them in a deal on ebay, most brandnew just needed tips put on and that is all done. Give me a shout ifn anyone is looking for any, will also do some bartering.
Well I got the ski's now, so its time to start building my fishing shanty, going to try to go with a Clam type fold up cover, but built on a wooden box. I just have to start building now. Oh its only about 3 months to go now.
My clam cover is starting to get holes in it after only 1 year. I would almost recommend buying 1/8'' (louan) (Spelling?) and use that for the walls instead of the cloth. You can get the outdoor sealer and it would be a little more rugged then the cloth. Then you could get the 1'' foam insulation boards and stick them in between your studs.
With my old shanty i could heat the entire thing with the latern on the lowest setting and still keep it comfortable thoughout the night!
And keep it lightweight!
Another suggestion, if you have the ski's then do yourself a favor and instead of having 2 runners on the bottom put one right in the middle too!! This made a HUGE difference when pushing/pulling it around on the ice!! Even in 8-12'' of snow my shanty pushed/pulled better then anyone elses in our little community! And it was the only one with 3 skis on the bottom! ![]()
Thanks for the suggestions, I will keep thom in mind when constructions starts.
