New Ideas....

Well GTN....I volunteer for the southern counties......Blair, Bedford, Centre, Huntington.....not that they are in the Twin Tiers, but.........

I like the idea of county locations.  If I were to travel to some new county to fish, I could at least have some idea of what is there and what to expect.

I volunteer to help with Bradford County.  I can offer a few helpful posts on certain other streams in Sullivan and Wyoming Counties (PA) albeit trout streams that I fish.

OK, I will create those counties now.

Please move whatever spots/posts are appropriate to those areas.  Thanks!!!  Off to work!!!

OK ! so what about in general ?  I liked talking about my findings on the lake of choice but they don't fall into them counties. What you call South > I call Central or South Central. So I guess the Southen part of the state will have to go on the far away place section. Hate being called far away destination but thats what they called Lancaster a few weeks ago. Our next venture is Walker lake ( snyder county ) South of this site.

I made you a "Central PA" section.  I hope you enjoy it.  But couldn't most of your posts just go into the Huntingtdon's Lake Structure Maps category we provided for you?  I mean...  99% of your posts are self promotion, right? 

Yeah, at some point we need to keep what is local (within an hour I would say) and everything else is Off The Grid....

I think we need to simplify.  We have a lot of categories but most aren't really used.  Breaking it up by county is nice... but if you look at it we only use about 5/10.  No one posts at the bottom with all the fishing tips and whatnot.  I mean in all actually we have about 10-15 active posters. 

Maybe we should just ask around and see what everyone wants to keep, or combine, or get rid of?

Whatever else you do, Keep the Fish Porn.  It gives me hope!  I wish more members would put on the porn.  Its great to see some people actually catch fish.

Being new to the sport, I typically check out most of the categories.  Only recently did I do a "nut check" and decide to ask some questions.  I have found that when you ask you get a lot of good and helpful info.  Be it locations, bait, technique.  I would just kindly ask that if members out there are doing some good fishing share your stories, I enjoy reading them and it helps get me off my backside onto the creek side.  If you don't want to give up your favorite hole, thats cool, but what did you catch, what did you use, how was the fight, did anything funny happen?  Some members do this regularly and I know I appreciate it and other members must to or they wouldn't be joining.  I look foreward to reading great stories.  C'mon write one, I know you have them.

Oh god... your opening Pandora's Box now!!   Whattaya say guys?  Shall we tell him a few of our DFP stories?  Or wait until we officially bring him into the fold?  We don't want to scare him off to soon!

Hey, the one thing that we do like to write about is the fishing experiences we all have.  On the other hand, we may not want to write about some of the DFP experiences........somethings may be best left alone.....hehehe!

Ok here goes...  One time, at band camp...   (sorry I just love that American Pie movie reference)

Do more fish porn contests or something to get folks to put up pictures. Other than that "If it ain't broke, then don't fix it"

'cept I gotta catch fish... that's been my downfall this year.  Nothing porn worthy... except my 17.5" smallie that's on my JJ's ad on the left side of the website.

It's just an idea, I am sure there are folks catching fish, they just got to remember to take the camera or pull out the cell phone and take some pictures, that is what I use, the old cell phone.
Here is my typical picture,
1. Catch fish
2 Get him close to shore, boat or what ever.
3. Turn on cell phone.
4 Take picture.
5. Release fish.
6. Turn off cell phone.

That's pretty much my MO as well..  except I usually add a few steps between #4 and #6. 

- #4.5 Drop cell phone in water, swear and curse
- #5.5 Swear and curse my bad luck, pick up phone in 4fow and get wet doing it, swear and curse some more.
- #6.5 Hope (and pray) my phone turns back on, then swear and curse some more

Maybe it's just swear and curse, period?  I can't remember.

I'm going to add a section called.......

Waterside Stories???  (Make a suggestion and I will change it)

Somewhere that members can tell fishing stories in.... funny ones, serious ones.....  you know.

I think members will get to know one another better through the tales told... maybe open up more dialog.

Sounds good to me, its always good to hear how someone else did the same thing I do when fishing, and lose the big one or break the pole, or find the beaver shute that goes thru the boot, or kicks the new pole and reel over the side of the boat and can't ever get to it before it goes in the deep.
