After Bar Tie.
Got home from the bar. Caught the 2nd half of TU on the rise. Got the urge to tie some flies under a decent beer buzz. Half a dozen Hares' Ears. 2 olive 4 natural. These Beads go on so much easier than the ones i bought from corporate suck cabelas. I bought the cabelas generic brand beads and for the life of me I could not get one on a TMC 5262 hook. Yes it was the proper size bead for the appropriate hook. The damn bead would not go past the the freaking bend. These new beads however that I got from a awesome fly shop in the northern tier didnt do me wrong. Check out the pics. Hares Ear Valentine.
Very very nice tie for getting your buzz on! Now... you really do need to get the bottle of WT! Quality abodes in that bottle! Yum, Yum. Or go get Tangle Ridge Canadian Whiskey. Smoother than Crown Royal.
Sorry guys.. early morning ramblings of a drunkard.
The beads from cabelas are a great deal for a 100 beads. You have to bend the hook though to get the beads on sometimes and then bend the hook back. Nice ties good job Matt
Speaking of Northern Tier FF'ing... JM, Matt do you guys need anything? I'll bring the 'sacred parchment' down on 2/22 to peruse if you do.
Sometimes I'll sit down at the vise, crack a beer and after a couple of hours I've got a bunch of empty bottles and some shitty looking flies.
The scene is never complete without an annoyed wife.

The motherlode of Tungsten beads, brass beads, and tungsten barbell eyes is available in China. Unfortunately their web site leaves much to be desired, but TopMim International appears to be the source for everyone. The manufacturer is JinJu Powder Metallurgy Inc, whose site mentions minimum quantity is 1,000 beads. Both sites mention supplying beads to the fly fishing industry, and their bead photos can be found on many middlemen sites in the US and Europe.
I sent them an email to get their price list, hopefully it is in Euro’s or Dollars.
If you are unwilling to take on international trade, Rings & Things has the round 2mm - 5mm copper, silver, and gold, beads for $1 per 100. That is about 1/4 the price of your fly shop or Cabela's. Buy 1,000 (2mm) and the price is 50 cents per 100. (Minimum order $25, make sure you get a catalog) Can’t beat the price.
Haha YES! I love tying under those conditions. Crack a beer, got a good sports game on the television and tie away. 4 or 5 beers later I wonder where the time went and how I got my buzz haha.
