Where do you all get your blanks? I used to get them out of someplace in NY thru the mail. I don't remember the name of the place, but they had cheap blanks and everything else it was good products just real cheap. Any help you can give me or places to start looking, websites, etc.

You can buy retail through Mudhole at  www.mudhole.com . I buy mine wholesale through Custom Tackle in Kentucky, but you need a retail license to do so.

I usually buy off of Mudhole as well.  They have a nice store!  I went to it when I was in Orlando back in October of 08.

You might be thinking of Hook & Hackle.  They carry quite a few brands and usually have some sort of sale going on.

Yeah, H&H used to be in Plattsburgh, NY. Now they are in Olmstead, PA.

I have accounts set up with Merrick, Mudhole, Custom Tackle Supply, and Anglers Workshop.  I'll order my St.Croix and Lamiglas blanks from whichever has it them in stock and can ship the quickest.  Usually that's Mudhole.

I order my Batson products (Rainshadow and Forecast) direct from Batson.

Speaking of all these shops, perhaps you can speak to your favorite ones and see about online ad's and links to thier online shop (if they have one).
I would like to try to see if we can charge a SMALL fee for ad's, so we can upgrade to the premium version of the lefora service.
The other thing I am working on is a TTA online shop that could have some of all your guys fly's, rods, and TTA wear (hat, shirt etc).  Again, nothing to make a buck, just support the guys here and maintain the site....
Just thoughts.... what do you think?

Is there a way to put the ads between posts like in the View Mark area?

I think when we do the premium service we can.  I am asking Chief now.

Only reason I ask... is that the sidebar is getting awfully crowded.

Yeah I know.  I'm trying to figure out somewhere else to put the DFP & CIW logo's.  They take up a lot of space.
Maybe they should just be on the blog?

Sure?  Sounds good.  Do you want me to put them on?  Just send me the CIW and DPF logos somehow

Here is the link to the CIW: Open it in a different window and save it.

And the DFP:

Well I did some searching and it was Midland Tackle in Sloatsburg NY, well the phone numbers listed are no longer valid. I will keep checking on other sites. Needless to say I really screwed up as when I was stationed in Korea, I got some blanks, but should have bought a hundred or more, I have one blank left for an 8' fly rod, and some real stiff 5 1/2' cranking blanks, although they say 7' on them.
The logos look real good and I agree with the sponsors for the site.

Ohhh round eye, you go fly to korea and buy more now ok?

No more flying for me, I shed all my feathers. Still have a couple of contacts over there and will try that route, but they aren't much for fishing so it might be a lost cause. Hell it was great the times I went to the factories, at one time I got 40 rods for under $150, not my money, but bought them for others. I did get my fair share of pole there, and some nice reels, they all still work and the price was REALLY GOOD. I just didn't plan on the kids falling in love with fishing as much as I do, and they wanting to have all of Dad's stuff.

Update on some Rod Blanks, I got bored one night and did a search on E Bay, seems some guy out west has to sell all his uncles collection of blanks, I got a lot of 128 Fishing Pole Blank Rods 24" to 57" halfs, should be here in the next few days and then I will see just how good a deal I made, with some mixing and matching should get at least 40 2 piece poles that I will have to start building. Will let you all know when they get here.

I'd like to buy a few of those blanks.  Would like to build a couple poles for my boys, and one for myself.

Let me know.
