"How Bad Is Your Skunk?" - A Story by GetTheNet007

His skunk is there,but hes like the Energizer bunny!!!
Its like a 16 degree high today so I rented the new Max Payne movie that just came out on DVD and decided to skip river fishing.Who calls,its 007 saying where you at im on the river!!!!!

I wish I had some advance notice cause I would of been there.By the way the movie really sucked,ide rather of been fishing even if it was a skunk.............

Ive excusively fished the river so far this ice season.I have 11 days invested and have to admit 3 days of that were a skunk!!!!

By the way that was 3 days in a row!!!!

OK OK....  He's too pissed to tell the story.


So, for two weeks GTN007 has been blaming for his skunks.  So I decided not to fish with him for a while.  See what happens.


Day after day I hear about his continueing skunk, and how its my fault.  (Tongue in Cheek of course).


So, I am on my way to Owego and he calls and tells me he was on the river with his new shelter and he wanted me to come by and check it out.  I told him I would stop on my way back.


So, I get there and I walk out to his shelter.  That Clam 5600 is the shizzywizzle my friend.  Where has this thing been??  


Long story short, he is making some adjustments and asks me to jig for him for a little bit.  I pull up the jig, check the bait hanging on it and drop it back down.  Nice and easy, up and down.


So I say to him, "Dude, I just got hit".  Its dark in there, no light, and I can't see the line.  He see's the line traveling and says "SET THE HOOK!!!".


So I do as I am told and reel up a nice Walleye (Pictures above).  Man is he pissed.  His skunk continues, and I show up and fish for two minutes on his jig and land a nice dinner fish.


I have never laughed so hard in my life.


So, I agree to help him pick up.  We pack up the clam and drag it to his tipups.  The first one we get to (its now dark and he has no light) and the flag is up.  ^Turns out whatever it was dragged the line around something and unhooked.  There was a lot of line out.  So now he is doubley pissed off.  Cussing up a storm unhappy.


So, we finishing picking up and we head our seperate ways.


To be fair, he was nice about it.  He always is.  But maybe now he won't blame me for his skunk.

I wish i knew what hit that tip up because there was at least 50-75 yds of line taken out.. Normally pike and muskie make long runs like that but so did my carp...
Im going to end my skunk tomm!! I will be out on the ice ALL DAY!!! and im not leaving till i catch a freakin fish damnit!

So im heading out now.... Who's gonna come down today and visit or fish??? I got extra gear/bait with me for whoever shows up!!! Whos gonna be the one who witinesses me breaking my skunk???

Should answer your phone.  I want to be down but I need to find work and figure out whats wrong with my dog.  She is squirting blood out her ass and I don't have the money to take her to the vet.
I'll tell ya, the way my luck is right now.... if its cloudy, I'm not going outside because I'll get struck by lightning..... maybe thats a good thing!

I know what you mean!!!! Still have to pay the RR Cops, can you plead poverty and get help? It works for the Mexicans etc. it's a fuc-ed up system we have when the lawless have more rights than the law abideing citizens have!!!

You wouldnt believe the story on my dog (2 surgerys),and the people in Milan took care of it.Its almost 10 years later and my dog is still my buddy!!!!!

So your dog is in good hands IMO.....

My thoughts are with you.  I wish your dog well  I am close to my dogs and understand how you feel

I still owe $4500.00 on my caredredit card that I got just to take my dog to cornell in 2005.... what we'll do for our beloved animals!!
